Tuesday, October 15, 2024

North East Point Beach
33 McGray Avenue, Northeast Point, Cape Sable Island, NS
DIRECTIONS: Take the first left turn on Cape Sable Island, immediately after the Causeway ends when you are driving from Barrington Passage.

Located across the Causeway from the center of Barrington Passage. This beach is a local hot spot for swimming, soaking in the sun, and playing in the white sand! Stroll along the boardwalk, have a picnic in the gazebo, or watch the sailboats and dorys in the bay.

Washrooms available on site during the summer months.

Stoney Island Beach
125 Kenney Rd, Clam Point, NS, B0W 3J0
DIRECTIONS: Drive over the Cape Island Causeway and follow Highway 330. Take a left on Stoney Island Road. Follow Stoney Island Road then take a right onto Kenny Road. The parking lot will be at the end of the road.

One of the more secluded beaches on Cape Sable Island. When you walk along the Stoney Island beach you will feel the warm silvery powdered sand between your toes. Another spot for swimming, surfing, walking, picnics, or soothing the day away! Also, do not be surprised if you find some beautiful beach glass here!

Nova Scotia Lifeguard Services now available 7 days a week (July and August) 10AM - 6PM

The Hawk Beach
154 New Road, The Hawk, Cape Sable Island Rd

The Hawk Beach is located on the most southerly tip of Nova Scotia. Walk this white sandy beach and explore the 1500 year old drowned forest exposed at low tide- a broad area of tree stumps still rooted in the original soil! Learn more about it at the YouTube link below.

As part of the Cape Sable Important Bird Area (IBA), The Hawk is one of the best birding areas in Nova Scotia. From the beach you can also view the Cape Sable Lighthouse, the tallest lighthouse in Nova Scotia, standing at 101 feet tall.

Bathroom on site during the summer months. Explore at own risk.

Daniel's Head / South Side Beach
144 Daniels Head Road, South Side, Cape Sable Island

Walk for miles on this white sand beach. Like all our beaches, Daniel's Head Beach is a great backdrop for your special day. It is a place to collect sea glass, swim, or just relax and enjoy the sights and sounds! Another spot for that birding enthusiast.

Sandhills Provincial Park
Sandhills Beach Rd, Barrington, NS , B0W 1E0

Sand Hills Beach Provincial Park features a 2.5KM white sand beach. At low tide there are wide sand flats that are warmed by the sun, allowing you to walk forever. When the tide comes back in, the water is warmed and makes this a unique beach for swimming and snorkeling. A spectacular sand dune system backs the beach area.

This provincial park offers the explorer beach combing, searching for sand dollars, deep sea clamming (in season), kite flying, and so much more! Bring the family for the day and pack a lunch that can be enjoyed in the large picnic area. Sit back and soak up the fresh sea air!

Change facilities, washrooms, outdoor shower, and taps available on site. Explore at your own risk.
